Motor Boat Handling Certificate 2. Snorkel Diver Medic The section called ?ADDITIONAL ACHIEVEMENTS? spans all grades. RULES 1. A Medical Disclaimer must be signed by the candidate (or parent/guardian if candidate is under 18 years of age).This must be signed once a year. If the candidate does have a medical condition or is undergoing treatment he/she must fill in the C.F.T. Snorkel Medical Form and thereafter every three years. 2. All novice snorkellers aged 6 to 10 years in open water must wear a snorkelling vest. RECOMMENDATIONS 1. A qualified Junior Snorkeller or novice snorkeller aged 11 and upwards in open water should wear a snorkelling vest at the D.O./S.O.?s discretion. 2. The use of weightbelts in children aged 6 to 10 years should be avoided where possible. If they are used, the snorkeller must demonstrate the release of the weightbelt to the satisfaction of the D.O./S.O. Special Note: 1. basis by Instructors or Examiners (where stipulated in the Courses & Test Book). The range and standard of skills and theory covered in a continual assessment must reflect that of the formal exam.Where examination is by the jury system, this can still be carried out on a continual assesment basis by arrangement with the N.S.O. As an alternative to the formal test, snorkellers may be examined on a continual assesment WHAT CONSTITUTES AN ?ACTIVE SNORKELLER?? 1. Medical Disclaimer signed within the past year. 2. Has snorkelled within the past 10 weeks. The second condition does not apply to Junior or Intermediate Grades. If a snorkeller has become ?inactive? he/she is required to complete a minimum of three snorkels of at least 30 minutes duration in order to regain ?active? status.
